Warts are non-cancerous skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which enters the outer layer of skin through small cuts or abrasions. On the soles of the feet (plantar warts), pressure pushes them inward, where they can become painful with every step.

Plantar warts are notoriously resistant to home treatment — drugstore acids and freezing kits rarely penetrate deep enough, and picking at warts spreads them. We offer in-office treatments matched to the wart’s size, depth, and your history, from prescription-strength topical therapy to curettage for resistant lesions.

Children and teens are especially prone to plantar warts picked up barefoot in locker rooms and around pools; we treat them gently and teach simple prevention habits.
