Toenail Fungus & Athlete’s Foot
Clearing stubborn fungal infections of the nails and skin
Toenail fungus (onychomycosis) and athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) are fungal infections caused by similar organisms — primarily dermatophytes that thrive in warm, moist environments like shoes, showers, and pool decks. One often leads to the other.
Thickened, discolored, brittle nails and itchy, peeling skin between the toes don’t resolve on their own — and over-the-counter creams rarely reach the fungus living under the nail plate. We treat both conditions with a combination of debridement, prescription topical and oral antifungals, and guidance on breaking the reinfection cycle in your footwear.
Early treatment matters: the longer a fungal nail is left, the more of the nail root becomes involved and the longer clearance takes.
